I fall in and out of the blogging routine. Lately, mostly out. But my life has gone on and now, as I way to organize my thoughts about where I stand, I am going to give a long overdue update to myself - because no one reads my blog anyway!
It's mid-February and the thing that occupies most of my thoughts is our upcoming wedding. It's only five months away and I have so much to do! Here's what I've accomplished so far:

-Event location (beautiful, perfect for us)
-Caterer (yummy foods that my diet allows)
-Officiant (wonderful woman who married my cousin, my Maid of Honor last year)
-My dress (what can I say? It's FABULOUS)
-Bridemaids dresses (perfect, just like the four girls who'll be wearing them)
-Flowers (beautiful, and also inexpensive, lots of PINK)
-DJ (also very inexpensive and who understands that if he plays "We are Family" he will be fired)
-Videographer (a friend of the groom's family)
-Registries (yay! New stuff!)

OK, that's pretty good, but I'm still missing a photographer, for reasons I will not get into right now, because it'll only make me angry.

The rest of my life has undergone some significant changes since I last wrote. First, I adopted a very strict way of eating, known as the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. I don't eat and grains of any kind (wheat, corn, rice, etc) nor do I eat sugar, anything processed, canned, or artificial. What the leaves is a lot of fruits, veggies, some dairy, and lean protein. Actually it's extremely healthy and I'm liking it way more than I thought I would. I still miss certain things, like chocolate, ice cream and grilled cheese sandwiches, but my health is very important to me and I'm glad to be making this a way of life. I went to visit my doctor and was a little alarmed at my weight loss. I knew I hadn't been feeling well, but I was surprised to find myself under 120 lbs, which is quite thin for someone who's 5'9". I decided I need to put on some muscle, which is what leads me to my next paragraph...

I've also started taking group classes at the fitness center on campus that I am absolutely loving. I take aerobics and weight lifting on Mondays, cycling (spinning) on Tuesday and Thursday, and Yoga on Wednesdays. The cycling kicks my butt but I love the rush of energy it gives me.

All in all I can say that my I'm in a really good place right now. I feel like my life has direction and I like the direction it's taking. Eric and I are making a little life of our own and figuring things out slowly. I'm so, so lucky to have him in my life. He makes me feel loved and appreciated every day and I can only hope he feels as much support and adoration from me as I do from him.
